In 2005, Oregon State University established the Institute for Water and Watersheds (IWW) as the hub for water-related teaching, research, and outreach activities at the University. There are over 125 water-related faculty at OSU.
The goals of the IWW are to:
- provide coordination of water and watershed activities at OSU,
- connect a diverse student body with relevant issues across the state,
- enable capture of new, high-value opportunities for research, education, and outreach,
- engage OSU faculty and students with external stakeholders throughout the state, and
- establish a set of shared water and watershed collaboratories supporting research, teaching and outreach.
The Oregon Water Resources Department (OWRD) is the state agency charged with administration of the laws governing surface and ground water resources. The Department's core functions are to protect existing water rights, facilitate voluntary streamflow restoration, increase the understanding of the demands on the state's water resources, provide accurate and accessible water resource data, and facilitate water supply solutions. The Department's mission is to serve the public by practicing and promoting responsible water management through two key goals:
- to directly address Oregon's water supply needs, and
- to restore and protect streamflows and watersheds in order to ensure the long-term sustainability of Oregon's ecosystems, economy, and quality of life.
Gold Level Sponsor:

They offer services related to groundwater development and management, water rights, groundwater quality, aquifer recharge, and environmental contamination issues. GSI has offices in Portland, Corvallis, and Bend, Oregon, and Kennewick, Washington.
Silver Level Sponsors:
GeoSystems Analysis, Inc. has pioneered innovative solutions for industry and government in vadose- and saturated-zone hydrology since 1994. Their successes include applying integrated vadose zone characterization methods to over 20 aquifer recharge projects with a total annual recharge capacity of almost 500,000 acre feet; designing and installing some of the first mine closure monitoring systems in North and South America; groundbreaking research on unsaturated flow in gravelly materials; and cost-effective reclamation of highly disturbed rangeland and riparian habitats. They provide laboratory, field-based, and computational solutions to unsaturated flow, groundwater resource and land reclamation issues.
For a quarter of a century, IRZ has been combining world-class water resource engineering with technologically advanced irrigation. IRZ's resource team has years of "real life" experience in the field. Our approach of evaluating your water resources produces optimum yields and efficiencies.
Bronze Level Sponsors:
Aquifer Resource Management develops and licenses software for visualization of groundwater systems. More reliable and lower cost water delivery is the result. ARM is advancing hydrologic science for better water management.
