For students developing their program of study, this information may be useful.  CEOAS will be offering a class on matlab that has been informal (599) in the past, but will now be regular. It will be offered Fall term every year. You can find out more about it at https://secure.oregonstate.edu/ap/cps/proposals/view/88990, including a syllabus.

  • 3rd Annual Natural Resources Leadership Academy

The 3rd annual Natural Resources Leadership Academy will take place this June and registration is open. The academy is an excellent fit for mid-career professionals who are looking to advance in their careers and graduate students seeking academic credit. This year's tracks include: Natural Resources and Community Values (watch video), Risk Analysis in Sustainable Natural Resources (watch video), Environmental and Natural Resource Politics & Policy (watch video), Water Conflict Management (watch video), Social Aspects of Sustainable Natural Resources (watch video) Environmental Water Transactions, and Wicked Problems in Natural Resources: Negotiations, Decision Making and the Public.

  • Open Science for Synthesis Training, Summer 2014

Open Science for Synthesis is a unique bi-coastal training offered for early career scientists who want to learn new software and technology skills needed for open, collaborative, and reproducible synthesis research. UC Santa Barbara’s NCEAS and University of North Carolina’s Renaissance Computing Institute (RENCI) will co-lead this three-week intensive training workshop with participants in both Santa Barbara, CA and Chapel Hill, NC. Visit https://www.nceas.ucsb.edu/news/apply-now-open-science-synthesis-training-summer-2014 for more information.

  • Workshop on Hydro-Hegemony Registration Open

Are all welcome in London on Saturday & Sunday 10-11 May 2014 to openly, critically, and creatively question how destructive transboundary water interactions and constrictive dominant ideas can be contested.
