  • CRS Water Resource Issues in the 114th Congress
The Congressional Research Service has released its published report on Water Resource Issues in the 114th Congress. Featuring prominently are issues relating to both the Columbia and Klamath river basins, you can read the full report here: CRS-114th Congress Report.
  • Dr. Todd Jarvis Featured in Oregonian Article
Dr. Todd Jarvis, Interim Director of the Institute for Water and Watersheds was featured in an Oregonian article entitled "Gasoline is now almost as cheap as bottled water," which compares the drop in gas prices with bottled water price trends.   • Department of Fisheries and Wildlife Stream Ecologist Interviews
The Stream Ecologist Search Committee has selected three candidates for interviews, which will include a research seminar, a teaching seminar, meetings, meals and social events. The candidates are Dr. Krista Capps, Dr. Catherine Febria and Dr. Ivan Arismendi.   • Tattarillo Award: Appropriate Technology and South of the World International Thesis Award
The International Tattarillo Thesis Award is designed to promote research and interest in sustainability topics in the "South of the World." The award is addressed to students who have graduated from any degree level (Bachelor, Master, PhD), as long as their thesis relates to appropriate technological advancement. The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition Water Action Team has released its Monthly report for January. The report highlights upcoming events pertaining to water awareness and sustainability, and highlights ways to get involved. You can view the full report here.

 

Kim Ogren, Aaron Wolf's PhD Geography student, won the Outstanding Student Oral Presentation Award at the recent American Water Resources Association (AWRA) Annual Conference! Well deserved! Kim is doing her PhD dissertation research on the Columbia River Treaty.
