Water Community Announcements

The OSU Library offers workshops each term to help students become familiar with the various research tools available to them.  If you are interested in streamlining your research sign up for one of the Library Workshops for Grad Students & Faculty.

Are you looking for an opportunity to advance environmental education? Contact Tullia Upton (tulliaupton@gmail.com) to volunteer for a workshop. Participants of the workshop/seminar would be presenting to the high school students, local NGOs, the community, college students at Umpqua Community College and local government agencies. There will be a poster presentation and then a few talks facilitated by local NGOs and potentially students and researchers from OSU.

OSU Water in the News

IWW Interim Director Todd Jarvis was appointed to the Oregon State Board of Geologists Examiners (OSBGE) for a three year term by Governor Kitzhaber. He replaces WRGP-affiliated faculty member Dr. Steve Taylor of Western Oregon University who served multiple terms under Governor Kulongoski, including most recently as the Chair of OSBGE . Todd served in a similar capacity for the Wyoming Board of Professional Geologists in the late 1990s under former Governor Geringer.

Congratulations to Tullia Upton, a Natural Resources and Environmental Studies advised by Dr. Jack Istok for earning a Fulbright-RBC Eco-leaders Grant to start a water quality monitoring education program in Douglas County, OR.
