  • Marys River Watershed Council Spring Quarterly Gathering

Please join the Marys River Watershed Council on the evening of Wednesday, April 3rd for the MRWC Spring Quarterly Gathering to learn about Pacific lamprey in the Willamette and Marys rivers.  Our speakers will include researchers Gabe Sheoships & Luke Schultz of OSU Fisheries & Wildlife, who have spent two summers investigating lamprey reproduction on Marys River and other Willamette tributaries.  We will also learn about the Pacific Lamprey Conservation Initiative, which is ramping up in the Willamette basin.  The council meeting will be held in the Corvallis Public Library Large Meeting Room from 6:30-8:30 pm.

Juice and light refreshments will be served, everyone is welcome!

  • Spring 2013 New Course Announcement: CE 505: Unsaturated Soil Mechanics

This course will provide an overview of the mechanics of unsaturated soils, addressing moisture movement, stress-deformation response, consolidation, and limit and plastic equilibrium of partially saturated soils. PLEASE NOTE: this is a “Soil Mechanics” course, not a “Geotechnical Engineering” course. That is, the focus will be on fundamental principles and NOT on engineering design, although there will be some design and engineering discussion interspersed throughout the course of the semester.
