- Local filmmaker provides sneak preview of new water film project!
Hello Water Community,
We are proud to share with you the first peek of local filmmaker Jeremy Monroe’s new forthcoming film series, Hidden Rivers, which highlights the beauty and diversity of North America's aquatic biodiversity hotspot.
As many of you know, Jeremy and his team at Freshwaters Illustrated have been working on this project for several years now trying to capture the striking imagery to celebrate the colorful and unique fauna of this region, while exploring stories about the threats to these ecosystems and the efforts to protect and recover them. Please take a few minutes to watch the preview:
As Jeremy works toward several short films and a forthcoming feature film, he and his team still have much more work and filming ahead of them. They are launching an online fundraiser to help continue work on this project in 2013, and inviting everyone to help support them. We hope you will consider chipping in, and help us spread the word within your circles and networks. You can find the fundraiser at:
In addition to supporting their work in the Southeast, contributors to our fundraiser receive valuable benefits, including exclusive access to an extended 8-minute Hidden Rivers preview.
The filmmaking team has been fortunate to have help and cooperation from many friends and partners, including the US Forest Service, The Tennessee Aquarium, Conservation Fisheries, Inc., The Tallassee Fund, World Wildlife Fund, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Smoky Mountain National Park, and many others. They are still seeking grants, sponsorships, and partnerships for this work, and welcome any suggestions or ideas you may have for supportive groups, agencies, or foundations.
Lastly, here's link to an article published in National Wildlife last year:
Please help us share and support this great work!
