WATER COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • New Course Offering Winter 2015: eWRP 523 Environmental Water Transactions

Dr. Mary Santlemann, Bruce Aylward and Caroline Nash are offering a new course as part of the Water Resources Graduate Program. Environmental Water Transactions can be used towards the Water Conflict Certificate and will make a great foundational course for the emerging waterMBA program. For more information, feel free to contact Dr. Santlemann at santelmm@onid.orst.edu.

  • Volunteer Opportunity: River Restoration Northwest Symposium

The River Restoration Northwest Symposium will be held February 3-5, 2015 at Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, Washington. This symposium brings together multi-disciplinary professionals in the science and practice of river restoration planning and design and is looking for assistance from volunteers. Student volunteers will receive discounted registration ($100 for the 3-day event), shared lodging for the duration of the symposium and will be responsible for assistance with activities such as registration, presentations and evening events. For more information visit: rrnwsymposium.org.

  • Let's Talk About Water Challenge Grant Program

CUASI's Let's Talk About Water (LTAW) uses film screening and panel discussion to initiate conversation between scientists and members of the public. The grant program supports universities looking to host their own LTAW science outreach on a 1:1 matching basis, providing up to $3,000 plus additional LTAW services. Grant applications are due on November 14, 2014. More information be found here: https://www.cuahsi.org/LTAWchallengegrants.
