WATER COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Water on Tap - Monday Nov. 17 - 7:00-8:00pm, Old World Deli
This is an opportunity for community members to connect over H20 in a relaxed, informal environment. This month, speakers from the Farmer's Conservation Alliance and the Marys River Watershed Council will discuss innovative solutions for farms and fish. Buy a brownie, pull up a pint from Oregon Trail Brewery, meet locals engaged in water issues, and support a local business. Free and open to the public!
  • Oklahoma State University NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates
This REU will provide 7 undergraduate students with the opportunity to study streams at a site located on the University of Oklahoma campus, and will focus on evaluating the effectiveness of stream restoration projects based on natural channel design. Research will include studies in hydrology, geosciences and biology. For more information, please visit: OSU-NSF-REU
  • Call for Young Professionals to Help Develop the World Water Week in Stockholm

Joining the Young Water Professionals Scientific Programme Committee is an opportunity for young professionals to expand their network and gain valuable experience. The eight members of the Young Scientific Programme Committee work together with the Scientific Programme Committee to develop the programme of the workshops. Their tasks: screen and review the abstracts received for each of the workshops (January to March), provide support to the planning of the workshop programme (April to August) support the workshop rapporteur teams and join the Best Poster Award jury during World Water Week. For more information, including how to apply, please visit: http://www.worldwaterweek.org/young-professionals-2015/. Please note that the deadline for applications is 7 December 2014.
