Water Community Announcements
You can now view the proceedings from The Forward Looking Workshop on Mathematical Geosciences held in Crystal City, Washington, D.C. on Sept. 16-17, 2011. The workshop was devoted to presentations and discussions of research and methodological challenges arising at the frontier of geosciences and mathematical and computational research. The participants also wrote a White Paper summarizing their findings and recommendations.
OSU hires 80 faculty from leading institutions to support growth in enrollment, research. Including Arturo Leon, an Assistant professor in the School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University in the area of Water Resources Engineering. Arturo received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May 2007. His areas of research include Transient flows, Real-time control of complex hydraulic systems, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Flood control and physical modeling of hydraulic structures. As well as Chad Higgins, an assistant professor in the Department of Biological and Ecological Engineering with research interests in examining water use and dynamics in the environment generally and agricultural systems specifically.
