OSU WATER IN THE NEWS

  • OSU Water Researchers Featured in the Associated Press

A recent publication by Desiree Tullos, Debra Finn, and Cara Walter that examined the response of rivers to small dam removal was highlighted by the Associated Press on October 8, 2014. The research focused on the Savage Rapids Dam on the Rogue River and the Brownsville Dam on the Calapooia. The full article can be found on OregonLive: http://www.oregonlive.com/environment/index.ssf/2014/10/osu_researchers_find_rogue_cal.html. Congrats Desiree, Debra, and Cara!

WATER COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS

  •  Humanitarian Engineering Seminar Series, "Voices From the Field"

This fall Oregon State University, in partnership with the Institute for Water and Watersheds, will be hosting a trio of practitioners who will present their perspectives on working in cross-cultural and low-resource environments. Each of the speakers will be on campus for multiple days in addition to delivering a public lecture and engaging with students and faculty through class visits or workshops

  •
    • Wednesday, October 29, Joni Kabana, Visual Storyteller: “Humanity Before Us: Crossing the Cultural Divide”
    • Tuesday, November 4, Jamie Bechtel, Social Entrepreneur: “The Art of Listening”
    • Thursday, November 13, David Manz, Environmental Engineer: “Future of the BioSand Filter”

If you would like to request a time to visit with the speaker for yourself, a student group, class, or group of faculty please contact Charles Robinson and Kendra Sharp: charles.robinson@oregonstate.edu; http://water.oregonstate.edu/sites/all/libraries/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_m...); background-attachment: initial; background-repeat: initial;">ksharp@engr.orst.edu.
