Maria conducts research and coordinates water and natural resources research projects. She is currently working with interdisciplinary teams on the Urban Water Innovations Network and Willamette INFEWS, a food-energy-water nexus project in the Willamette River Basin. From 2010-2016, Maria was the project coordinator for Willamette Water 2100, a project that modeled future water supply and demand in the Willamette River basin. Maria also provides web and outreach support for the IWW and the Institute for Natural Resources. She has a background in geology and geomorphology and worked as a hydrologist for the USGS in Columbia, Missouri before coming to OSU in 2001.
